The last weekend of summer

I go back to work on Wednesday and so last weekend was doubly special. As with other lasts, this particular weekend was elegiac and went by too quickly. Ice and I spent Saturday morning with Woody Allen's Another Woman and it was breathtaking. Listening to Ice's poetic interpretation of the movie's symbolisms afterward was just as thrilling.

It was also my younger sister's last weekend because her internship starts today, and so we had a good old fashioned sleepover with our youngest brother and talked way into the night and laughed ourselves silly with King of Opera and watched Orsem videos and The Simpsons and redecorated their room.

On Sunday, Ice and I went to Eastwood and marveled at the goodies at their weekend gourmet market. We got pretty pink grapefruit sparkling juice and homemade Japanese mango dressing and pistachio and vanilla macarons that did not live to see this photoshoot.

They were perfect with my light weekend reading. :)

This summer was quite productive albeit too hot and too short. I finished an essay I had been working on for a while, as well as a 50-piece collection for someone's accessory shop in the States. It was good to earn some extra cash. :)

If the summer were longer. I would have loved to read more, rearrange my library, and perhaps work on a painting.

Next year, perhaps. :)

On contentment

When I turned the tap and water came out hot and almost scalding, I thought perhaps summer was God telling me I asked too much when I wished for centralized heating.
